Eden Community Access Centre launches Ageing Well Project for older people across the Bega Valley

Eden Community Access Centre has announced the opening of its new Ageing Well Project, a two-year initiative funded by the PHN to help older people and their families across the Bega Valley find the services and support they need to live well, stay connected and thrive.

The Ageing Well Project will provide friendly, person-centred support to older people, families and carers, helping them navigate health, aged care, community and wellbeing services. The service will be delivered from Eden Community Access Centre’s Ageing Well office at 3/167 Imlay Street, Eden, with outreach hubs and pop-up support planned across the Bega Valley.

Manager of Eden Community Access Centre, Ms Carina Severs, said the organisation was proud to have been selected to deliver the pilot project.

“We are delighted to have been selected to deliver this pilot project,” Ms Severs said. “Ageing Well will deliver person-centred support across the Bega Valley and will help connect people to health, aged care, community and wellbeing support.”

The project will support people to understand their options, access information, complete forms, prepare for appointments and referrals, use digital services, and build local connections. Workshops and community activities will also be offered to strengthen social connection and promote wellbeing.

Eden Community Access Centre encourages older people, families, carers and community members across the Bega Valley to contact the Ageing Well team or visit the new office to learn more about the support available.
