Eden Foreshores Landcare Group

The Eden Foreshores Landcare Group was incorporated in December 2015 and will cover areas from Aslings North to Boydtown.

One of the immediate objectives is the resumption of construction, finalisation, and continued maintenance of the Lake Curalo Walk from Lakeside Drive to North Curalo Foreshore. The Group Chair and Co Ordinator Mike Stebbings said " This avenue will be a beautiful natural lakeside link from Eden to North Curalo and return, with viewing platforms over the waterway dotted along the route."
Funds have been allocated and are now currently available in Council ( approximately $230,000) for the project to recommence".

Mike further advised "there are many other ventures that the Group has in mind; all of which will be advised accordingly." "The Group will have to generate its own funds and working volunteers are only obliged initially to sign a registration document; the membership is not rocket science; we have forty odd volunteers already".

Wanderer Replica

Plans are under way to build full-scale replica of Benjamin Boyd's luxury schooner, the Wanderer.  The Scottish entrpreneur sailed to Australia on the Wanderer in 1842.   In 1849 after the collapse of his business empire Boyd left Australia on the Wanderer and was believed to have been killed in the Solomon Islands in October 1851.  A month later the Wanderer was wrecked in a gale off Port Macquarie.

If you are unable to donate your time you can still support the Wanderer Replica Project when (WRPC) you  "purchase a plank", by contacting Clare Whiter at the Eden Access Centre on 6496 3970
